Food Industry Coverage in the UK National Press

FOSCAN is a bibliographic database designed to provide you with a daily update of press coverage relevant to the food and drinks industries. FOSCAN may be browsed on a daily basis, or searched retrospectively. The daily news is available at 11.30am each morning, enabling you to scan the current events over your mid-morning coffee. The EU's Scientific Committee on Animal Health and Welfare has condemned the conditions in which some battery-farmed hens are reared, and has called for a complete overhaul of production methods across Europe. Chickens are reported to suffer from serious health problems, including leg injuries, heart failure and dermatitis, as a result of factory farming methods.
